The Raelian Forehead Bone

In Rael's compilation book, Intelligent Design, Rael's alleged ET father, Yahweh explains how they plan to recreate Raelians after they die (pp. 191-192):

"Death should not be an occasion for sad gatherings; on the contrary, it should be a time of joyful celebration, because it is the moment when the beloved one may perhaps reach the paradise of the eternals in the company of our creators, the Elohim."

"You will therefore ask not to be buried religiously, but you will donate your body to science, or you will ask that your body be disposed of as discreetly as possible, except for the bone of your forehead - more precisely the part located above the beginning of the nose, 33 millimeters (1.3 inches) above the middle of the axis linking the pupils of your eyes. At least one square centimeter (0.4 square inches) ofthis bone should be sent to the Guide of Guides, so that he may keep it in our embassy on Earth."

"Each person is monitored by a computer that records all their actions and will make a tally of them at the end of their life. But people who know about this message which Claude Rael is communicating will be re-created from the cells that they have left in our embassy. In their cases, re-creation will take place only if they ensure that the required part of their body is sent to the Guide of Guides after their death."

"The mechanism within the computer that records the information to be used in judgement (sic)of individuals remains in operation after they learn about the message. But the mechanism that allows an automatic sampling of a cell at the moment of death is disconnected. So only those who comply exactly with what is required once they know about the message will be recreated."

It is quite clear from the above that when Yahweh says Raelians, or those who have heard of Rael's "Messages", may have a chance to be resurrected through cloning, he means from a cell taken from the piece of forehead bone they will have left behind and to be stored at the Raelian Embassy. Moreover, we can safely assume that the "last judgment" will occur once humanity either destroys itself or manages to become peaceful and welcome the Elohim back (p. 71). According to Rael, this will happen by 2035 [1].

Contrary to the above, unfortunately, Rael has been telling his followers how all of the Raelians who have died had possibly been recreated right away on the Planet of Eternal Life [2]. This even includesHonorary Guides, such as Michael Jackson [3]. MJ apparently meet Rael on several occasions, and therefore must have heard about the "Messages". This means that the Elohim do not have MJ's cells to recreate him (unless MJ had made an arrangement with the International Raelian Movement to obtain a piece of his forehead bone for safekeeping).

Now notice that it is all talking about taking a cell sample from our bodies only after we die. However, this is not the case with the Elohim. For them:

"When we are in full possession of our faculties and our brain is at its maximum level of efficiency and knowledge, we surgically remove a tiny sample of the body, which we then preserve. Then, when we really die, we take a cell from this preserved sample and re-create the body in full, just as it had been at the time the sample was taken. I say, “as it had been at that time”, meaning with all its scientific knowledge and, of course, its personality. But in this case, the body is made up of new elements with the potential for another one thousand years of life - and so on eternally. But in order to limit the growth of the population, only geniuses have the right to eternity.

"Everybody on our planet has a cell sample taken at a certain age, hoping that they will be chosen for re-creation after their death. In fact they not only hope for it, they try to earn this resurrection during their life. Once they have died, a grand council of the eternals assembles to decide in a “last judgement” (sic), who among those who died during the year deserves to live another life. For a period of three lifetimes, the eternal is on probation, and at the end of this time, the council of the eternals reconvenes to judge who, in the light of their work, deserves to join the council of the eternals as a perpetual member." (pp. 108-109)

This means the Elohim do not make clones using cells taken from bodies that had died, but from cell samples taken at the peak of their health - both physically and mentally. While it's apparent that the Elohim assert that our memories are contained in our genetic codes, Rael now talks of "mind uploading" to achieve eternal life through cloning [4].

The question remains, why can't Raelians do the same by collecting their cells and preserving them at the height of their lives? We do have means to collect cells and preserve them, even while donor is living!

When Rael was allegedly shown a clone of himself, the Elohim had pricked his forehead with a very thin needle in order to collect a cell sample (p. 167). We can do the same! However, if we create a clone from a cell taken "at a certain age" what will happen to all the memories between that time and when they die of old age? Can we really call that "eternal life" when chunks of your memories are missing? LOL

Also, will clones that are created from cells from very old bodies show signs of old age? Will they be able to remember less of their memories? The same goes for "mind uploading"... if you were to emulate the brain exactly as it functioned just before death at old age, you'd have an exact copy of the old mind. : P

Research indicates while some cognitive functions peak at around the age of 25, which correlates with peak brain mass, but it appears many other cognitive functions including inductive reasoning and verbal ability do not peak until sometime after 50 years old and begin to decline from age 60 [5]. Rael just turned 65.
